The United Kingdom

Don't write off this classic destination as tired—it's a staple of Europe for a reason, especially during the spring and summer months as its temperate climate makes for the perfect sightseeing and strolling weather! From the Cotswolds, with village names as charming as Shipton-under-Wychwood and Stow-on-the-Wold, to a nostalgic Mary Poppins tour in London, there's plenty to do and see in between bites of fish and chips and soaking up the foliage (the Chelsea Flower Show in May is a must-see). With one of the best train systems in Europe, it's easy to book a ride pretty much anywhere to experience the verdant lands of Britannia. 

The Netherlands

We'll never say no the the Netherlands, no matter the season. This destination offers year-long delights, but there's something uniquely special about the sunnier months. Amsterdam during the spring and summer is a sight to behold, with tulips bordering the canals and streets. While these springtime flowers aren't native to Holland, they're now the largest producer of tulip bulbs in the world and we've only benefitted from their flower fields, such as those at Keukenhof Park. Guests can take a break from the bustling city streets and visit the picturesque village of De Zaanse Schans to see their famed windmills.

Northern Italy

Of course there are Rome, Sicily, and the Amalfi coast—all fantastic destinations for the spring and summer, but we'd like to suggest the locales a little to the north: the lush lands of Tuscany and the glistening lakes of 'Alta Italia' as primary destinations. There's nothing quite like Lake Como and its surrounding villas to revel in during the warmer weather. A short drive away through wine country are iconic medieval towns, like San Gimignano, where guests can work up an appetite by biking the countryside before settling in to a cooking class to learn everything they need to know about the secrets of Tuscan cooking. And of course, no trip to Tuscany is complete without a visit to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, to take in the art and architecture, and turn a hand to creating one's own masterpiece from a memorable painting or sculpting class.

The French Countryside

With the summer Olympics looming, the French countryside never looked better. Get your guests excited for the calming sunflower and lavender fields and culture of the city center of Provence. Bordeaux is also beckoning with its world famous wines and châteaus, ripe for exploration. A short trip from Paris, in the northern countryside, is the former home of Claude Monet, whose impressionist paintings captured the rustic French provincial charm and beauty of the natural world. Whether art fan or not, guests will never forget their visit to Monet's home in Giverny.
